TWOSS-DAY

I like saying Tuesday in a British accent. My sister, Caroline, and I would say it to each other back and forth until one of use burst into giggles (it didn’t take long to make one of us laugh :)).

Had scuba class this morning! Everyone got to use the tanks (I still have to be cleared). So, next Tuesday, I’m swimming with a tank of AIR…UNDER WATER!

I’m super pumped for that. I’ve wanted to take a scuba class at the YMCA in my town, Waynesboro, for a long time. So, finding in the Penn State Student Schedule there was a scuba class….I WAS SOOO HAPPY! The wonders of the Penn State Courses.

Had English 202 Honors, good discussion today. It was about the NY Times article about a homeless girl in New York City (NYC- I’m going to be using this for now on).

Costume of History was funny today! Our teacher, Laura Robinson, told us this very very funny joke about seamstresses in the Garment District in NYC.

Back in the 1970s, most clothing was made in the United States. People would meet at 9th and 39th Street were the state of man at a sewing machine was a place for people to get jobs for the day. Fashion Houses would be like, “I need two pattern cutters and a tailor,” and off they went to work together!

People apparently got daily work in this fashion. Get it? Fashion (clothes), Fashion, (doing stuff!), me being silly soul!

The joke, relies on the fact you know that the Garment district wasn’t as “clean” as it is now.

Here’s the joke:

A seamstress is walking from work to home, when a man in a large overcoat flashes the seamstress. The seamstress replies, “You call that a lining?”

*Giggle Giggle

Read articles for the Honors class. If you have a NY Times subscription, this is the article I read:

I did found on Onward State about Common, the rapper from last night at Eisenhower. Here’s the article about that as well:

Markea Dickinson, saw me rap. She made me smile saying I was really bold for rapping in front of everyone. I hope we can hang out this weekend, considering schoolwork…………yea, it’s as good as done.
